Melamine cyanuric acid, chemically known as melamine cyanurate or Melamine Cyanurate (MCA), is a halogen-free, environmentally friendly nitrogen series flame retardant with a CAS registration number of 37640-57-6. The compound is synthesized from melamine and cyanuric acid through a specific chemical reaction and has two forms: powder and granules.
Structurally, the molecular formula of melamine cyanurate is C6H9N9O3, and the molecular weight is 255.20. It has attracted widespread attention for its excellent thermal stability, low smoke, low toxicity and good flame retardant properties.
