Application
Triphenyl phosphate (TPP), a phosphorus-containing compound, can be used as a non-halogenated, eco-friendly flame retardant and is soluble in organic solvents. Its molecular formula is OP(OC6H5)3. It appears as a white, odorless crystalline powder with slight hygroscopicity; its vapor pressure is 0.01kPa/20°C; its flash point is 220°C; its melting point is 47-53°C; its boiling point is 370°C; it is insoluble in water but slightly soluble in alcohol, soluble in benzene, chloroform, and acetone, and easily soluble in ether.
1. It is mainly used as a flame retardant plasticizer for engineering plastics and phenolic resin laminated boards;
2. It is used as a softener for synthetic rubber and a raw material for the production of trimethyl phosphate; 
3. It is used as a flame retardant plasticiser for nitrocellulose and acetocellulose, a fire-resistant solvent, a nitrocellulose paint, a synthetic resin, a wetting agent for roofing paper, and as a substitute for camphor in celluloid production, among other applications.
