Melamine, commonly known as melamine and albumin, has a molecular formula of C3H6N6, and IUPAC named it "1,3,5- triazine -2,4,6- triamine", which is a triazine nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic compound and is used as a chemical raw material. It is a white monoclinic crystal, almost tasteless, harmful to the body, and can not be used for food processing or food additives.
Melamine is the most commonly used gas source of intumescent flame retardant, and it is also the raw material for preparing many intumescent flame retardant components (such as various phosphates, cyanuric salts and phosphates). It is also often compounded with other flame retardants for flame retardant of various plastics and other polymers, such as polyurethane foam with organic phosphate.
It is widely used in the field of paint, wood, plastics, paper making, textile, coatings and other industry. It is the main material for making high grade coatings, laminated board, mold powder, bonding agent, textile and paper treatment agent, cement water reducer, leather fanning agent, fir-retardant and insulating material.
