Mflam 1420XL is a halogen-free intumescent flame retardant, especially used in olefin based TPE, like TPV/TPO etc, for cable & wire application.
The main content is Piperazine pyrophosphate (PAPP), which is a polymeric intumescent flame retardant (IFR) used in various materials, especially polymers like polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). It acts as a monocomponent IFR, meaning it contains all the necessary components - acid, charring agent, and blowing agent - within its structure, promoting flame retardancy and char formation.
It depends on detailed formulation and W & C system, normally ≥25%, to achieve UL94_V0, @1.6mm.
